Thread: Measure your razor angle !!!!!

    Are we measuring the razor's angle when it is wrapped up and put away, or are we measuring the angle when it has been unwrapped and is ready for action?

    Some of the ones in my Americana razor brands drawer, all of these are either NOS or close to it... They have all been honed with one layer of 3M electrical tape at one time, none, have been honed more than once....
    All are extreme hollow grinds... All measurements are in inches

    I've got a razor with a 25 degree angle and it shaves fine as well. Large angles don't seem to be as much of a problem as small ones.

    Note the before honing...
    That is the one you just sent me for Al, I will hone it and re-measure it..
    I am curious too, but I have honed a couple of your razors and NO ONE has ever complained about the edge failing....

    All of my razors are exactly 17 degrees. sorry.
