    Default Questions about a Dovo

I am debating buyging the Dovo in Ivory Micarta with the stainless blade. Iw as wondering if anyone here has one and what they think of the shave. I have only honed a few stainless blades and I found them a little different, but I have never shaved with one. I would really like some help before spending $165 on a blade if it does not shave well.
    Thanks
Here is a link to the razor.

I don't care for the looks (which is a matter of personal taste obviously), but I've honed and fully test shaved with 2 or 3 of those and they all took a great smooth edge. I have to admit, that for some reason I like the shave off a stainless blade.

Why not contact Don at SRD. I'm sure he can help you. I had questions about the Bergisher Lowe, he was very helpful. I bought it. As far a Stainless goes, I heard they're wonderful, A little harder to hone, but again, This is not first hand info. I have no Stainelss Blades. This is just what I've heard.

I've been jonesing for one too as far as ss blades go. I like the look of the wood grain look of the scales and the matching etch on the blade.

The only thing I'm ho-hum about is the 5/8 size.

    Trey:

They are great shavers when honed properly, wicked mean edge.... I owned one for about a year, and have honed quite a few of them....

I would check SRD too for price and the fact that it comes honed from Lynn... Even though you know how to hone, it still gives you a true honemiester's edge to compare yers too...

Stainless is a little harder to hone, takes a great edge and is a great shaver. I wouldnt have a problem with owning one.

I not crazy about 5/8th's either, I like 6/8th's or better....
That was the one drag when I got my Bergisher Lowe....

    Trey,

I got one (ivory micarta) for travel use and was so impressed I got another one (anthracite micarta) !

I now use the pair as my daily razors.

The scales are a bit 'fatter' than most, but you soon get used to them.

For me, they shave with that 'WOW' factor

    Best regards

    Russ
