I agree with the loueedacat. Too many different faces and opinions to find a razor that is perfect for everyone.

    For me :
    1.Japanese Straights
    2.Jonathan Crookes/Brookes & Crookes

Why? I find the Japanese Straight extremely sharp and easily manouverable. More so than any other western straight I have used. (About 15 different. Well-known brands..) I have read that most people find they think its the other way around. Too sharp. Dangerous spikes on head and toe.. Slippery handle.. etc. Maybe it's because I'm left handed.. Maybe it's some other reason. I don't know.

And the Crookes? I guess it doesn't shave any better than my Henckels, my Shumate, my Elliot or my Rodgers.. But I just like it. It's rare. It's old. I love the scales, the barber's notch. I just love the whole package. I rarely if ever see one on ebay and perhaps it has some subconscious effect on me..Maybe that's why I treasure it more. Because it's not mainstream or in other words.. it's not a common, easily available brand. Maybe when I get my wade & butcher that will be my favourite. Or when the Boker arrives.. Who knows I think it's like asking what's the best beer on the market. It would be the longest thread in history..

no, the longest thread would have to be whether you tape the lip of your beer bottle when you drink from it.

He he.. Even I know that one. If you are new at drinking you should start drinking without taping the lip. And only when you have sufficient experience drinking without tape should you start taping the lip..
