    Default dubl duck goldenedge

So I'm brand spanking new to the world of straight razors. I have experience with knife work so I thought starting out with an antique razor and getting it ready to shave myself might be the best way to get started. Well I just got back from the antique store. Found a nice barber nosed razor I think I'll be looking for someone to refurb for me. Decided there's a bit more work to rehabing these things than I have time or tools for.

Anyway my question is about the other razor I picked up...a pearlduck dubl duck goldenedge in the box. Its in great shape except for a little rust on the spine. I thought it was a neat find and for only $14 it seemed like a decent deal, considering it was the only razor that was in good enough condition that I thought I could hone it myself and have it shave ready. So the question is how do I find out how much this thing is worth? I've been reading and I can't believe it could possibly be one of the ones that is worth $200. Is this true? Did I just luck out or are there cheaper less rare dubl ducks out there.

Would love for any thoughts on this matter. Thanks for any help.

    Robert

The goldedges do fetch a pretty penny on Ebay, more because they are highly sought after than because they are rare. If you really want to figure out what a razor is worth, the only way I can think of is actually listing it on ebay. Other than that, you can search completed auctions on ebay to get an idea.

+1 with Holli. Dubl Duck Goldedge are highly sought after. The better condition, the more it will fetch, with the original box is a big plus. They are great shavers too. Just check Ebay and follow the auctions...
