For the points, I'd say get whatever you think looks best - it's really a matter of personal preference. If it was me... I'm actually not sure what I'd get.
I would avoid goldwash, but that's also a preference. As stated above, it's just one more thing to take care of, and chances are very good that it'll come off with use. I also don't like the way it looks.

Thanked: 267Spanish points are nice and personally the longer I shave the more I want a razor that has a more definitive point for proper line cutting.
I will throw this out there with nothing but personal bias indicated. Seven 7/8, 1/4 grinds seem a little large to me for every day use both in weight and size.
You certainly are headed for some really nice razors! Best of luck and give us pics when you get them........ on second though, don't.....post pics!!
Take Care,
Richard

Thanked: 19Guys one thing I decided so far. I want the day of the week engraved on the spine of each razor in latin so I need your help here one more time. Is anyone here that can tell me the exact days of the week in latin for sure because the internet has confusing information. For example in one place tuesday is dies martis and in another place tuesday is dies marti .. so without the s. So if anyone here know for sure the correct spelling of the days of the week I will own him one. Thx

I think they sound great but my question is this; with TI making the blades in France and an international trade ban on elephant ivory are you going to have someone else make the scales in the U.S.? Pre ban elephant ivory is legal to sell within the U.S and within the borders of the country where it is presently located but it is a violation of international law to ship across borders. That is why they call it an international trade ban.

Thanked: 431Have your last name etched on the blade, maybe the date stamped somewhere - the tail or maybe etched on the spine along with the day, or maybe your name on the spine with the day. I think I would go with something along those lines, very personalized with family name in some kind of fancy lettering, and the date so that in the distant future if some straight razor obsessed freak buys them at an auction of some sort he'll have a better idea of their origin and history, or also as a very personal family keepsake if kept in the family. Same goes for the storage box.

Since we are making heirlooms here, you could consider goldwashing your surname in a fancy design or family crest/emblem/regalia/whatchacallit to them, if you want to get the gilding.
+1 for proper box.
What kind of stabilisers and jimping are you planning on?
Looking forward to see those beauts... They do sound fantastic. =)

Suggestion on 7-Day set
My dear Justacat,
If I were to choose, I would choose Spanish point. If I were an artist, I would apply my own gold wash. I would make the razors an extension of myself and who I am.
The days of the week in Latin are:
Dies Lunae — Monday
Dies Marti — Tuesday
Dies Mercuri — Wednesday
Dies Iovis — Thursday
Dies Veneris — Friday
Dies Saturni — Saturday
Dies Solis — Sunday
This will be a magnificent razor set. Congratulations.
Regards,
Obie
