    Default 5/8, 6/8 and 11/16 shaving difference?

so is there huge difference as far as actual shaving with these sizes? for example, if i have been using a 5/8 razor for a few months, would it be different or harder shaving with an 11/16 razor?

it would be great to see the different size comparison photos if anyone has them available.

Very little in it. You probably wouldn't even notice. Once you've had a few months practice, don't be afraid to try out a few different sizes & grinds. Eventually you should be able to pick up anything, & just shave.

(Obviously, I mean razor's. I'm not suggesting that with enough practice you could pick up a fish, or something, & get a decent shave)

These 3 sizes you are talking about are my personal favorites, I target the 11/16 size full hollow spike points...
I have very very few razors smaller then 5/8 and about the same larger than 6/8...
Between these three sizes I find very little difference in the razors handling characteristics..

    I should be agree.
There will be no differences or so little you will not notice.
if you go from 5/8 to 10/8 new cuts was all other my face. gl

Only if those razors have different grinds you might notice difference.

It all depends on grind really. You could have a 7/8 hollow that's significantly lighter than a 5/8 wedge. In fact, I do.
You're really unlikely to notice any great difference between those sizes in terms of width. Grinds are a different matter, but purely on size, they're all very similar.

im a total amateur/newbie to SR so i apologize for possibly dumb questions i might ask, but what is the heaviest grind? i was wondering because i find the razor i have now a little on the light side. i think i would like something with a little more weight to it.

Ask away. We've all been there! It's a wedge. There are even minor variations on that though, with some being a full wedge & most slightly less so. Don't worry about that though.

Here's the weight difference. Both blades are 5/8" but one has had significantly more metal removed in the grinding process.
