I think that rare is one thing and demand is another. A Wonderedge isn't rare but usually fetches a heck of a price IME if it is in decent shape. OTOH, an obscure Solingen marque may be far more uncommon, even rare, and bring very little in an auction.
My remark that the Dutchman brought $15.00 was sort of sour grapes. I had it in my watched items and planned to bid but got distracted. Two that I know of have popped up in the last couple of weeks. They may be the only two extant in the world or there maybe thousands of them out there.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I didn't see the ad so I don't know but often times when these older bresnicks go up they are listed as bresnick only. Many people don't associate bresnick with DD so without DD on the listing they go under the radar. I've gotten some rare birds for a song with only a couple of people bidding.

so you say there's around 22,000 or so Flying Dutchman razor's in the world?
I guess that would be why it only went for $15.00. Wow! Thanx for the input.
