Even though the DX is lighter than the RG, it's still about the same weight as most full hollow 6/8 vintage straight razors, I use both and it's a refreshing change of pace to use the DX on occasion, I'll leave you with some stat's on a few razors I own so you may compare them to the Feather RG and DX.

Thanked: 3I asked the OP and he agreed that to make this thread more complete, it would make sense to post the pictures of the other Feather models, specifically these two that I use/own on a daily basis:
Fixed handle DX on top / fixed handle RG on bottom:
Close-up on the handle differences:
Close-up on the heads:
Close-up on the heads (DX on the right side):
Using my postal scale, the DX came at 1.6 oz while the RG came at 1.5 oz. They are both excellent (in my opinion), and clearly a step above the CJB (the best bang for the buck!).

Fixed/ Non-Folding Feather Type Razors
A note from Will about the post above and we have decided to collaborate on the Fixed/Non Folding version.
Between the two of us we have what would probably be the five most common versions in use.
Mine are the Kai Captain Excelia, the Feather SS and the CJB
Note that the handle style between the three differs a bit.
The CJB most closely follows the RG and DX in profile - the material has a different feel/texture.
Use any of them a few days in a row and you get used to them.
I have noted that the Kai is "Handle Heavy" and the SS & CJB is more "Head Heavy" to me. (YMMV)
And that seemed to be the biggest adjustment to make when you switch.Last edited by MJC; 07-03-2013 at 10:35 PM.
