Thread: Whats your favorite razor made of?

Well, I only have carbon razors so far so I had to vote carbon.

Hopefully in the future I will be able to purchase a SS razor.

I went for carbon, mainly because I dont own a single stainless razor...!

I was interested in trying one a while back, but now I'm just buying them based on looks! I'm shallow like that...! :-)

I use both but prefer carbon. I have one stainless and several carbon blades.
I am used to work with carbons, not only razors, but actually all my knives are carbon: easier to get sharp. I feel that i have a better control of the sharpness of those carbons.

I am new to straight shaving. I have a stainless at the moment that I am having trouble getting it sharp enough for shaving. I have a carbon one on its way to me. It was advertised as shave ready. I will let you all know which one I rather in the near future. Wish me luck.

I am still pretty new here, but I am really surprised that noone has claimed stainless as a favorite. I know there have been many posts and responses claiming how wonderful friodur and DOVO shaves. I just really expected more than one claim to stainless, especially with some of the custom stainless razors. I do have a friodur but have not yet honed.

I only have 1 SS razor in my arsenal. I can't form a conclusion as I don't have enough to base my opinion on.
