BIG BLADE'S!
Hey guys,
What makes razor's with big blade's so popular? The first cutthroat razor I shaved with was 7/8" and it was heavy, sharp, and very scary. I learned how to shave with it yet I feel more comfortable with a 5/8 or 11/16. Any info would be much appreciated, thankyou!

Whenever I shave with a razor smaller than 6/8, I feel like I'm holding a toy. I don't know, it's just one of those personal things I guess.
Nothing, to me, says "I am a RAZOR!" better than great big Sheffield...

Personal preference. It also seems newer guys have a tendency to go after the big blades, so maybe it's also a novelty factor.

Some of those big blades just look flat out impressive, but I had a henkels 4/8 that was as wicked a shaver as any I've tried.

I think to some degree it can't be denied that it's a visual thing that adds to their popularity. I've never had a desire to shave with a 2/8 or 3/8, but I have some great razors in 4/8, 5/8 and on up. I like em all.

They are pretty to look at and easy to shave with. For me, I'll take the agility of a 5/8 over the heft and ease of use of a chopper any day.

I'm with Chris, I like em all, 4/8th's and up. Latey, I've had big blades out in my rotation, 15/16, 7/8th's. They can be large and intimitdating at first, but wonderful shavers, that hold lot's of soap/cream per swipe...I especially like the Fily 14's...

FILLY'S
I just recently caught on to the whole Filarmonica razor craze, so why are people paying hundreds of clams for these razors? Why? I have some really nice razor's, so I can appreciate expensive razor's but why Filly's?????????

Thanked: 48well for me its the wow factor my 9/8 greaves just looks intimidating scares the wiskers right off my face.but to be honest i got a little 3/8
that gives me a great shave.and will do certain things better than the big choppers. if my rad ever is cured Ive got 2 11/16 pumas that are the best of the lot in terms of effort vs result .
