Any off brand solingen razor. ERN, THessen Brook, ATOR, Regeldso, Geldmacher, Peaso etc. If you search "solingen razor" on ebay and are patient you can get a really nice razor cheap if you stay away from the hot names like puma, friodur, henckels dubl duck.

I like this!!! My civic would be a Henry Sears and Son's full hollow 5/8 spike point. I also have to agree with the Duck Special #1 (even though mine is all pimped out with the brass dubl duck inlay in the scales ) Both razors were cheap (well one was free) and both shave great!!

I'm a BIG Robert Klaas (kissing cranes) guy. This 78 was had for 35 bucks shipped internationally. Honed by Sham, this thing is a ridiculous shaver. My first razor was a Klaas "AM", which I bought for 40 bucks and is also one of my favorites. They are consistently inexpensive but of exceptional quality. Nothing to look at, but soooo smooth with the right hone on it.

I paid only $30.00 for my Northfield Cutlery razor. It gives me a good close shave the first time every time.

Nah. Wapi's a more like an old-school Lada Niva. Just a hunk of Iron Curtain steel. It does the job, but it doesn't try to look like a daisy while it's doing it.

I mean, you can clearly tell what the original Wapi's were for by looking at them. They're clinical and no-nonsense.

What we really need is something reminiscent of a John Deere 2 cylinder tractor - something like my old model A, 60 years old and still pulling. But where oh where can one find a razor with green scales?

I would say things like the bottom end DOVO's and TI's, such as the Best Quality DOVO, are good, no frills, well made razors.
