Thanked: 0The Honda Civic of Razors
Corny question...Which blades would you categorize as the closes likeness to this vehicle (or similar vehicle)? No frills, no exceptional beauty...but low cost, low maintenance, long life, high functionality, consistent dependability, etc. I saw a Case Red Imp in great condition for sale for about $30 and it reminded me of my little old Civic that isn't much to look at but never, ever dissapoints.

Thanked: 155In so much as I never paid more than $50 for a razor I guess any of my six would fit into that catagory. Specifically:
Simmons Hardware Keen Kutter
Case Red Imp
Duble Duck Satin Edge
Duble Duck Golden Edge
Genco Seneca Chief
Boker Red Injun 101
One caution on the Red Imp. It is apply named as it has a nasty spike point that can give you a good nick if you don't pay attention to what you are doing. With that caveat, however, it's a great shaver.

With the Imp's, it is the Case 133 (the full hollow) that has the nasty spike, the 132 ("wedge") is just a normal square point. Case Red Imp's are very well regarded, and some people collect them; I don't know if it's cause they are Case razors or just because they are great razors. Either way, I think the Case Red Imp's are more like early 90's BMW's than Honda Civics.

i like the looks of the red imps, actually i like them better than most razors.
if you're talking about vintage razors the dublduck special is probably that - cheap, plentiful and nothing fancy, but works great.

Thanked: 1262Hmm.. well a Double Arrow/Golden Dollar razor with pimped out scales and worked spine reminds me of a modded civic...

Mine would probably be...........
SR Droescher "Classic"
Simmons Hardware "Excelsior" (paid 10 bucks for it but had to put scales on it)
Dubl Duck "Satinedge"
These were all under 20 bucks. I have others in this category that need to be finished and put in service but haven't got there yet. I hope they do as well. The "Excelsior" & "Classic" I like just as much as some of the more pricey ones.

since we're talking cheap razors, i think i may have paid $20 for one of my pumas, perhaps that's a civic.

Thanked: 13245I think you might more want to look at the Entry level Dovo's and TI's
Although you can't buy a $2150 Civic (Base MSRP 1973) anymore so a $30 new razor is out too...
But they are in the same vein, entry level price, and accessories and reliable shavers

Thanked: 151I agree with Gugi here and this is unusual. The DD special #1 is usually a consistent shaver and I have found to be very easy to handle and hone. They are also reasonable priced because there are a good number around.

Thanked: 84Hello All!
My 'Civic' level razors would be those of George Korn. I have no complaints with them. I've been using one of them for over 30 years with no signs of getting tired. Never having owned a Civic, I can only compare them Nissan or Toyota, both of which I've driven over 300,000 miles.
