I seem to have no problem honing, but I have bought a wade & butcher from ebay & can't get an edge on it. any ideas guys. Its a nice razor and I really want to bring it back to life.

You're not providing much info to assist with so I'll guess.
Mark the existing bevel with a marker and adjust your honing stroke to be sure you are honing the complete edge. Use a 1k hone till it pops arm hairs. Don't move to a finer hone until then. You may need to rock the blade on the hone to get the whole edge. Be sure you are not creating secondary bevels.“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A.
