Thanked: 11id keep it and use it no sense selling family heirlooms thats why i hate that pawn stars show younger kids selling what they think is junk cause it wasnt cash or land left to them by their elders

The Bay State hone is a new one on me but typical in size, shape and style to what we call a 'barber hone.' They are usually very effective, in practiced hands, at maintaining a shaving edge on a sharp razor. If that was my grandfather's, and I wasn't proficient at honing, I would send it to Lynn Abrams or one of the other honemeisters in the SRP classifieds here.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
