Thanked: 1371Wow that is a gorgeous razor. It's definitely a keeper.

I suspect the name eclipse is just a retail establishment that had a number of makers make razors for them so they just put their name on them. It was a very common practice.

If that razor is indeed in the Doyle's book of razors, I wouldn't fiddle it or try to do anything to it until I'd know if it has any collector value. I suspect that any resto would make its value as collectable plummet. But as always, your call.
Congrats on the find btw. Even if that isn't collectible, it's still a very nice sharpie.Last edited by ursus; 03-10-2010 at 06:01 PM.

I have an order form for the Robert Doyle smaller book, just of rare celluloid razor scales, which I am going to attempt to attach. It has a photo of the cover, which has a number of rare razors pictured on it. Real eye candy! Just haven't spent the $25 yet to get a copy. Hope it is OK to post this, mods.

Although the blade is not in very good condition - those are some of the classiest looking scales I have ever seen. Good buy!
