    Default Magnetized??? Why?

I dont understand why some razors are magnetized. I have a Carbo Magnetic, that is magnetized and I seen another in the classifieds that says its magnetic. I dont see the point other than maybe to stick it to your refridgerator. Does anyone know the actual reason why some razors come magnetic?
    Thanks, Tony B.

I can not think of any real reason to do this to a razor, might just be one of these things that people do cause they can and to make their product diffrent from others.

I've seen some older razors that were magnetized, but no new ones. I suspect it was a marketing gimmick back in the day, but lets see what others have to say as well. Maybe I'm just a cynic..!

I`m sure i remember somthing about a method of forging/constructing blades that made them magnetic....

so it could well just be a side effect of mqaking the blade that has then gone on as a marketing ploy.

Marketing. Like putting x+1 blades on a multy-blade plastic vibrating doohickey and telling you "it's the best... "

I read somewhere that presumably magnetized razors stay in sharp condition longer then no magnetized razors.

It was a marketing ploy, same as Silver, Tungsten, Electro, and all the others...

However you will find some that are magnetic now, from the rare earth magnets that hold them in the sanding/buffing jigs that people make for restorations...

Also there is one theory I have learned from Russian website that dull magnetized razors becoming sharp inside of Egyptian pyramids.
Take this theory with a grain of salt.

Maybe the theory is that, like with a brush charged with static electricity, the hairs stand up to be sliced as the razor approaches! This theory may need more salt to swallow than the pyramid sharpening.
