    Unhappy Razor Nick!!

Ack! So I decided while my girlfriend was watching TV I would go run my new to me razor on the strop to have it all ready for my shave tomorrow morning. Just as I was about to put it to the strop I noticed something... Ack! A big nick!

You can't see it so well in this photo

I have only used it twice! Grrrr!!!

So I guess I need to send this out to be honed now. That's just great. I have no idea how it happened. I must have banged it on the sink or something. I know when closing it, it catches on the scales a little and I have to make sure I pay attention to that. I can't imagine the scale could have nicked it like that.

Looks like a faucet chip to me. I've been there before, don't fret, it should be an easy fix.

I agree with Disburden. It looks like a very small ding from your faucet.

It is not the end of the world. When it is honed, it will look like new again.

It's just a major bummer. I've used it all of twice which is about how many straight razor shaves I've had. I was looking forward to using it now I will be without for a few weeks. I suppose now I see the need for a backup.

Yeah, it looks like a faucet ding, but have you had the "straight razor talk" with your gf? The one where you make it plain that straight razors are for cutting hair only, not opening a UPS box or sharpening an eyebrow pencil or whatever.

Well... she's sitting next to me and looks half amused, half ****ed. Actually she is pretty respectful of that type of thing.
