What's your "Holy Grail" razor?
Just like it says, what's the razor you've been hunting for or saving to buy? Whether it be a vintage or new custom, rare or common, doesn't matter. For me it's a 8/8 Reynolds frameback. What's yours?

The one that I had to have was a W&B 8/8 with "for barbers use" stamped in the tang. I finally nailed one over a year ago on the bay for under a hundred bucks. Got lucky. Now I'm craving a pristine mint Otto Deutsch 6/8. Hard to find in pristine condition and I probably wouldn't want to pay what it would take to bring it home.

I also hunted for the 8/8 barbers use. I ended up finding and buying 4 of them but cracked the one that had it stamped on the tang. Still have 3 others though so it's all good, an I'm sure I'll come across another or two.

I was after a Dubl Duck Goldedge for ages, and finally got one a few weeks ago. I won a Satinedge on the 'Bay on Sunday as well..!
But what I really want is a Livi 8/8 Bergam Damask with abalone scales. I'm also being quite picky about the way I get hold of it as well. I dont want to order one, I want to go to his workshop in Italy and pick one up!

I think mine is either of my two Swedes.
I think it is safer to mention by name only those razors that already costs zillions in eBay..DDs, W&B 8/8's or Filarmonicas'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'

Thanked: 1903Same here. The one I have is in very good shape (considering that it's the same dubious quality as the rest of the Bresnick family, also known as Dubl Rust), but I've decided to put it on display instead.
Apart from that... Otto Busch "Weltmeister" 8/8 (red scales), and - of course - a minty Puma 89 with black scales. I have, however, all the time in the world. And I know I will get them (a) in the end, and (b) for less than USD 100.

I forgot to mention the Chronik ..... not kidding.... one born every minute, I know, The list was long when I started out and as I acquired the ducks, the C-Mons, Pumas, Heljes the list grew shorter but it never ends. When the obscure object of desire is achieved it is always .... .... and then on to the next.

Until recently it was Japanese KAMISORI razor made at Meiji time.
Now as I gained it, I long for WB 8/8 with "for barbers use" stamped in the blade.
As soon as I have it, i will be interested only in razors with blade to size 6/8 max (Fillarmonica DT 14 8/8 I have :-)Last edited by Radgost; 04-20-2010 at 02:22 PM.

I'm in search of an old barber with a heck of a lot of razors who's knocking on death's door and is willing to add me to the will.
