Question Will you try this? - why or why not??

    Hello fellow shavers,
Let's try this for laughs. I am sure that most have already seen the commercial for the new Gillette ProGlide...This thing does everything, but make coffee (but I am sure the NextGen will do that too or better yet, it will be the barber on demand ).

This beast will be available on June 6th. The link to Gillette is:

    Gillette.com

Q: Question to those using multi-blade, DE or str8 razors (or anything else for that matter):

Would you try this Gillette or not?? Why or why not?

A: In a different life (not too long ago in my case), I would have jumped at the opportunity to get this, but now that I graduated to str8 razor shaving, there's no going back . Str8 is the way to go.

    Post your answers,
    -Robert

Personally I agree with you before I tried a straight I would have bought the thing. But now. NO WAY and I have only used a straight ONCE. It was far more comfortable than any disposable I have ever used. Now I just need to work on getting a closer shave with it.

I might try it. I have to paint my house this summer and I've been looking for a good scraper.

I predict , if you got 100 responses to your question less than 5 would be yes I'll try it.

    Me? No way.

For I'm sure what the price of one of the "economy" sized packs of replacement blades you get at the wholesale box stores for this new razor cost I'll bet you could get a great razor off the classifieds. Mach3's were $50 for the pack last I checked, this thing's going to be $70 or $80! Easy choice to make IMO.

Before I switched to straight razors, I had already given up on the whiz bang razors coming out. They were getting too expensive and I wasn't seeing the improvement with each step up. I thought the original Gilette Sensor was a real improvement....20+ years ago when it came out. After that, they are all the same to me. I was actually shaving with 3 blade disposables from Sam's Club before I made the switch.

    In other words. no.

I'd try it out of sheer curiosity, but only if someone else gave it to me... I wouldn't ever buy one.

    Default Why or why not?

    Gentlemen:

If you had to choose between a gastronomical adventure at a great restaurant and something wrapped in paper and handed over the counter in a paper bag, which would you take?

I have had both and know which I would choose every time.

    Regards,
    Obie

I have never tried a cartridge that has more than two blades. I used to enjoy the Sensor Excel but at $1 a refill I thought that was too much considering you can buy a pack of twin blades for about $2.50. Before I bought my first straight I would use the disposables and once every three or four months splash out on an Excel.

I want to know why they put the lubricating strip above the blades and the skin stretcher below the blades. I would have thought the opposite set up would work better.

    To answer your question, No.
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!
