    Not for me.
If I want a tossable I have found the yellow handled BiC
single blade razors to be sufficient.

There are two reasons I am not tempted....

As the gosh-durn things get dull I always try to get one
more shave and if they are expensive three more shaves.
It is these terrible shaves that stick in my mind. At
least with a straight I can hone and strop up the edge
fresh each time. A sharp polished blade is important to me.

Multiple blades cause ingrown whiskers for me... that is
    not a good thing.

So the first couple shaves give me bad ingrown whiskers
and the last couple shaves rip and shred my face because
they are dull. If I try for five shaves the first two cause one
problem and the last two cause another set of problems..
One in five is not good odds.

And BTW I know how to build a good lather... I do not need
some plastic contraption that has slippery goo on
it when I get so much pleasure from a good lathering...
yep... more than two I can count

I just find it so ironic that Gillete, Schick or whoever makes these things are still trying to "improve" them with all sorts of bells & whistles when a sharp straight or DE just works & always has.

In answer to the question. No, not even if it was free for life

As a young kid when I started it was with the Gillette DEs. After a couple of years I switched to the Schick injectors. Whenever it was that Gillette came out with the two bladed "good news" disposables, '70s IIRC, I used those almost all of the time. Once in awhile I would use the yellow bics. I've yet to buy a razor with more than the two blades in the good news. It was working so I didn't need to fix it.

In the mid '80s I had a fling with straight razors that didn't last and it was back to the disposables. I never thought I would go back to DEs but I eventually did. More for nostalgia than the expectation of a better shave. I was pleasantly surprised. Once I went to straight razors this time around, thanks to SRP, it was a success and no turning back. I wouldn't take those multi blade vibrating gizmos they sell today if I had a lifetime free supply.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Hi Jimmy,
Don't ask why, but I never would have figured you for someone who tried str8 and actually went back to, of all things, disposables (well and eventually to DEs) . But, disposables first??? Holy Macaroni man...those str8 shaves must have been painful to warrant resorting to disposables for solace. But, it's all good my friend .

    Best,
    -Robert
