Thanked: 6RAZOR FINDS
I lucked out a friend of my step dad owns a antique shop and he sold me the tiny razor it looks like it could be ivory but its real hard to tell . He then told me of another place to go look and yup the place had 9 old razors most of the razors are boker the imperial is shefiled and there is one other shefield . one soligen The mid size cream colored one is bone AS it has pore holes in several spots and on the ends this one reads P LUNGSTRASS then under that OLGS soligen also a 52 with a picture of a light . The one with the fancy silver ends is stamped BROOKS RAZOR . The other yelloish handle the larger one is stamped soligen thats all . I have a couple of the 1925 bokers one round end king cutter and one square end . And one buste king cutter that has near mint scales Ill remove and use on one of the others. I think I did very well and everyone here says the old razors make good shavers. I also bought a 1k/4k japan wet stone but will start looking for a 8k wet stone to finish. I also bought an old auto strop for 1 dollar. It kinda works but Im sure Im doing it wrong . What ya all think . kellyw

I think a couple might have horn handles the one from england and one from germany that has a squared off edge. Im new and with out testing it can be hard to tell . I do know the one mid size white one is bone for sure and really nice 4/8 razor. are any of these good shavers to shave with.

Some are too far gone, like the square point boker. the round point is usable though.

Yeah, wow...some of those razors are parts only materials...if that. A few others look like ugly ducklings that can either be honed and used as PIF equipment to give to friends that are considering shaving with a straight. You could also plan on practicing some honing or restoration on a few. There's actually a couple in that bunch that look pretty good. It's hard to tell from the photo but the round point Boker looks like it has a tiny chip up toward the toe that can hone out. That Imperial should make for a nice user too.
Considering your post count, I'll venture to say that it's a nice haul. Over time, your tastes will change but that's all part of the fun.

Your first razor is a corn razor, used for trimming painful callouses that grow on the toes. Since these were drug store items, I would guess that the scales are not ivory, but celluloid. But, who knows, it might have come from a wealthy person and was part of an ivory handled manicure set.
