Two piece Dovo Special
I was sent a new Dovo Special to take a look at. The gentleman who sent it to me said the finish was rough so he used a dremel tool to repolish it. It turned out the razor was plated and under the plating it looks like two pieces of metal were forged togather to make the blank. Has anyone else seen this?

Strangest razor mfg I've ever seen. I've never heard of a razor made in such a way as that. Is that a one of a kind ?
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

That's really weird John. Thanks for sharing this find. First I've seen of this but I will be following this thread to read what others know and/or think. Do you think the seam run all the way to the edge?

I read about this a month or so ago and thought it was a troll DOVO bashing. (It was a popular sport a couple months back!) But now I have seen, and I believe. Crazy.

If it is forged out of two pieces of metal, then wouldnt the cutting edge be two pieces also thus making it like 2 razors going over your face at the same time?

Weird! Hows the overall feel?

May be they're branching into pattern welded steel. If 10 folds add $300-$500 to a razor that single one should cost $30-$50 more than the monosteel model.

Thanked: 2591I can't believe that this is some sort of omission on the QC part.

I can't tell, but is there a thin piece of steel between the two halves? Like a norwegian laminate.
