The core steel should be AS steel. Takeda switched to that steel a few years ago. He used to use both AS and Blue so depending on what Livi requested and when...

AS is a much harder steel and is rather resistant, not sure about the cladding.

I have two of them. One uses plain steel for the outer sections, the other uses damascus for the outer sections. Both have staghorn scales, and both are really excellent shavers.
