    Default Damascus or Takeda

Ok, if you're getting a custom and price pretty much being equal, what will probably be a better shave and hold an edge longer, Damascus or Takeda? It would be a Livi creation if that should make a difference.

Ok..I have a similar post up and have owned the Takeda Damascus and I have a few Livi Damascus.

FYI...There are no more Livi Takeda Damascus razors being produced. This is straight from Don.

Livi Damascus is very nice indeed. I have been looking at the Takeda 2 steel myself. Im just waiting to hear back from Don. I think either way you cant go wrong.

I don't have one but that Bergamo, IIRC, Damascus was beautifully figured. I've never seen a Livi that didn't shave like a dream and I've seen more than a few.

I have a few Livi's and a Takeda and to tell you the truth they are all great razors. If you can get the Takeda I would do that more because it's an uncommon beast.

I have a Bergamo This One and it shaves quite nicely. No Takeda though, it was next on my list though. From what I have heard, they are relatively comparable. It is more a mater of which one do you think looks nicer, what turns your crank.

Dag nabit...I done did it now..pulled the trigger on a Livi Takeda 2, as well a Iwasaki 1, from SRD this morning. Got to step back. It's going to cost me too many pairs of shoes with the wife.

Congratulations! You will love those razors. I have a Takeda and a couple of Iwasakis...never regretted buying any of them.

You won't be disappointed with the quality of the shave whichever one you choose. If a subtle pattern is your preference the Takeda. If you like a lot more figure in the pattern than the Damascus will have that.
