Should normal (plastic) scales be waxed as well? I was wondering if my plastic scales get worn out over the years (they're still quite new now), how easy is it to replace them them?
Sorry - I know...

BTW, what is the best stone to use to give this razor a touch-up? I've given mine a few laps on the pasted strops but it still feels a tad dull in just areas so I was thinking maybe a few laps on a Belgian 8K cotticule?

Any scales can be replaced. We have a talented group of guys here thatknow how to do it for you.
Also a coticule is a great stone, but there are many stones you can use. Just start a new thread and you'll get lots of replies.
As for my razor. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas. Can't waitfor it to come so I can open my new toys!Last edited by basil; 06-23-2010 at 01:48 PM.

I noticed there a few different le grelot blades.
What are the differences between the blades with the half sun on them or any of the shoulderless ones or even the ones that just say a number like 360 6/8 on the side?Last edited by basil; 06-23-2010 at 09:45 PM.

Oil replenishes and prevents drying and cracking. Wax will seal and protect but internally it can still dry out over time.
