Thanked: 6Buying from Germany? Use track and trace! Lost 8/8.
Gentlemen,
I recently won a 8/8 Marke Dovo Firma Fritz Bracht 3-pin. HOwever, that was the begining of May and as of today, it still hasn't arrived. Me thinks it was sent by carrier pidgeon...or surface mail. Apparently, DHL are the National Postal Carrier in Germany and are absolutely useless.
If you ever purchase anything from Germany please pay for the track and trace service.

Thanked: 3795If you won it, as in eBay won it, I'd file a report with eBay and PayPal ASAP.

Thanked: 6I won it on ebay Germany and have since lodged a complaint with them.
I didn't use Paypal as, apparently a great deal of Germans hate it, so I sent money directly to the sellers bank account.
The seller did send me the receipt from the post office but that really isn't much help since they didn't use Trace and Trace and there aren't any significant/unique identifiers on the receipt...other than the date and time.
Cheers
Scott

DHL is not the national carrier in germany it's Deutsche Post. DHL has some sort of relationship with them. I had a parcel shipped from Germany and the parcel was given to DHL who just took it to the post office and though it had a DHL number and could be tracked on their site in Germany their worldwide site had no record. The thing was delayed for many weeks and when I called DHL they explained they didn't ship it only acted as a courier and it was sent normal mail. The tracking number meant nothing though I could still file a claim with the post office in germany. It finally came.

Thanked: 335These stories kinda make one want to run up and hug a US Postal Worker. For all our slurs, the USPS really does wonderful work.

Do not give up hope yet. I live in GA and it took 2 months from Germany the two times I have tried.
