never got anything from germany, but been getting stuff from uk & france and onyl 2 weeks. poland seems to be 3-4 weeks. the europeans seem to have it together. hopefully you will use paypal next time though. ebay and paypal go hand in hand so if somebody asks you to pay outside of that i'd be a little wary. I have had the same problem from bulgaria though. good luck anyway.

I have found that if one insures a package it will make it to you. You don't have to insure for the full amount just do the one up to $50. It puts tracking and all the rest of the goodies on the package but more important thieves in the postal department, no matter which country, will think twice about touching an insured package. Another thing is how do you know the guy even sent it?

I've seen plenty of insured packages disappear in the mail A thief is a thief. Unless your sending domestically and send registered you have no assurances. Even with tracking it will just tell you the point where it went missing and insurance does not give you tracking automatically.

In this case with the OP the Thater retailer in Germany makes it a point to say they do not take any responsibility for international shipments and to my knowledge they put no insurance on the package. It just goes out regular mail. I've ordered many things from Germany and sent to and it usually takes about 10 days depending on the service of course. Lately though I don't know. It seems customs is really looking at things incoming to the U.S and delays are common.

It really depends on what the size if it was and how it was shipped. I've had many parcels from Europe arrive in a couple days, others a couple weeks. I've also had things that were sent by surface mail(boat) and it took 11 weeks for one and 5 weeks fir the other. When it goes by boat its sorted slower, handled less often, the boat takes a lot longer than a plane, and also I'm guessing they don't send boats every day across the ocean. From what I was told when doing a trade with a guy in japan, they only have a couple boats a month for postal service, and that's for many countries mail so it often sits in a warehouse until it's able to be loaded onto the boat. I'd give it another month before getting worried.
