Wondering if it is a rescaling job or if they could be original scales.
I've owned several of them, and all have had the lizard on either the blade, or on the scales... but not both blade and scales. However; in all cases, the scales were green (see below). I would tend to believe that yours has been rescaled.

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Yea that blade and tang/tang design and stamp looks like the blade I have. Must have been rescaled.

    Thanks!

The green scales and lizzard were their trademark.

Couple years ago I started looking for a pair of these razors for a gift set... All I see are the $$ going up... bugger...

I've seen many in the past few months with stamps on both, I saw that one in black but wanted greens

Thats kinda the same with all the razors and rare hones at the moment DC..! Prices keep going up, very annoying!

Thats a nice razor though, I've not seen one before. Hows the shave?

Upon waking-up this morning, I decided to shave with this razor... went to my 28-razor storage case, took it out, and... oy-VEY!! "celluloid rot" had taken hold.

Beginning about a quarter-inch from the tip, and extending for an inch, a narrow strip of rust runs along the blade's edge... and there's a corresponding "leperous"-looking (pale) patch on the bottom of the scales, where they were once a verdant green.

My heart is broken. Needless to say, I immediately banished the offensive item from the storage case. What to do? I could salvage the blade, but it's one without the "Green Lizard" stamped on it, so... sad... so very sad.

What about making a plaster casting of the stamped scale and making a new one with green acrylic epoxy?

You could also make a pair of green acrylic scales & get a sign maker with the right equipment to counterfeit a lizard for you. As a one off it wouldn't be cheap tho.
