+1. It'll depend on what you've got at the moment TBH!

well razors Berhisher loeve(expensive) or Bismark if you dont already have a dovo.
Whacker ot TI should be worth a look if you do
If you got one of the SRD premium strops kanayama is one of the few actual upgrades
(you said big buy right)
Naniwa 5-8-12k kit plus a DMT 8c and maybe a 1k would be good if you want to learn to hone
http://www.fitjarsoapinternational.com/ have great soaps and cream, but then again so do the soapmakers on this site
Disclaimor: This is AD advice not sensible advice

There's nothing you really need. In the vintage area you could choose from a variety of brands, to name a few: Heljestrand (one of my favorites), Puma, Fritz Bracht, Boker, Filarmonica. If you want a new one: Dovo or Wacker would be my choices.

I would say in terms of razors, get a Dubl Duck. They really are amazing shavers, and they seem to take wonderfully sharp but smooth edges. Or get a Sheffield razor like a W&B, which are also some of my favourite razors.
If you want to get more into honing, maybe a set of Naniwa's or Shaptons?

Here is an idea. Get some restoration equipment. Small drill press, vibratory machine, buffer.

Gotta say +1 on the Wacker I really love mine. I have several very nice production razors (Worldmaster, Wonderedge, Dorko 300, LeGrelot Quarter Grind, Friodur Inox, Weltmeister, Revisor Gold, DD Grim Reaper), and the Wacker I have is the best shaver of the lot.
