    Default Max is the man!

Bought a batch of e-bay specials to learn to hone on. For some reason this big ol' chopper grew on me. Saw Max's page a few months ago and thought I'd see if it was worth restoring. Well, I got the "your razor is finished" e-mail today and needless to say I'm pretty excited.

Of course now I have the torturous wait for the honing and shipping.

I am a big Max fan as well. However, my heart sank to see that old etching gone forever. Your razor, of course. But I would have kept the etching.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to fall in love with Max's Blue Paua! Gorgeous stuff, and a lovely blade!

livingontheedge: All I've ever been able to dig up is that there was a Never Fail razor company out of Ohio, but I cannot confirm that this is from them or another razor company.

Basset - I struggled for days on the decision to keep the etch or not but eventually (reluctantly) went with the decision to lose it in favor of a pristine mirror finish intending to make this more of a workhorse in the rotation and less of a collector piece. Ultimately, I'm happy with that decision.
