New ( OLD) Razors but goodies
Just got these this morning from eBay bids. Henckels 415 and Engels Special. Kind of disappointed of the Henckels toe. Would've preferred a nice big spike. The eBay pics on this one were not that great. Considering I only paid about $15 for the Engels I'll learn to live with it. Think they both will be good useable shavers although probably not my fav's. We will see after I clean them up. This will be my first Henckels shave. Hope it goes well.

Some will say no, but I think it's find to round off that spike just a little. I promise you, that spike will cut you at some point, and a spike cut is a bad one. It will dig in and likely leave a raised scar that will catch on subsequent shaves.
I know very skilled shavers who are good with the spike, but I think it's totally unncecessary. A little gentling of that point will reduce that danger.
Just my view, others will differ of course.

This is a good tip and what my old school barber recommends. Every time I bring him a square point w/o the tip rounded off he cringes and asks why I don't round it off. He avoids using that razor on me if I bring others w/o a pointed toe.
Nice razors you have here. It's hard to say which would be a better shaver as they are both good brands. Congrats.“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A. Einstein)
