Anyway, check out some photos, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Jeff, I just looked online and it appears the Silverwing II Limited Edition razors by Thiers Issard are available again. They were at 2 US, 2 Canadian and 1 German dealers listing them. The one US site (in CA) had about 5 numbers you could choose from a couple of weeks ago but only 2 today. Better get one quick so you don't do this

Personaly I've had my eye on a historic Le Canadian with festooned spine. I've only seen it with snakewood scales which are nice but not as nice as nice pair of rams horn. Also I do like some of the Hart steal razors. There just aren't enough birthdays in a year.... Goodluck and let us know what you pick!

I am a big fan of "no nonsense" blades at this point. I like the simplicity of the tool and the fact that it is a razor and it was made to shave. That is why, the two previously mentioned blades appeal to me most. I am not looking for a birthday razor, but my next purchase will probably be a Le Grelot. In fact, I have been putting it off for too long.

With that said, the Hart Steel is my favorite looking razor right now. It is the definition of no nonsense and I love the satin finish on the blade. I also love how the initials give it a "semi-custom" touch to it. From what I have read though, the Hart is still an unknown.

I will definitely own both these razors at some point, but for a sure thing and a great razor, I don't think you can go wrong with a Le Grelot.
