Do you prefer simple elegance or something that really makes a statement?
In the same vein, do you prefer modern looks or that antique look?

If you want something with class and yet not bling, this one is very nice (I´ve been looking at the pics many times ):
Vintage Samuel Osborn Mushet Special Steel Straight Razor#
Then you have the new model from Wacker, those are very nice, or something custom, like Buddel in Germany or something from the American manufactors. Many blades out there. And of course you can allways look in the classifieds here ...

Check out the vendors who advertise here at SRP. They have both vintage, custom and new straight razors that you may find to your liking. If you are new to straight razor shaving, I would recommend that you get a classy looking new razor. Perhaps a Dovo "Special" or "Renaissance." That way if something happens to it, you can always replace it.
Once you get the hang of things, then you can move to vintage razors. After all, no straight razor shaver can get by with just one razor."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

How much do you want to spend? Remember the other goodies you need to get. My first was a Dovo With ebony scales carbon steel.
