If you're not wanting to get into the whole oiling thing you can get yourself a nice box and put a couple of those silicon gel sachets in it (the kind you get in new shoe boxes) with your razor.

I was getting pretty bad rust on my razor even after drying it properly after every use, before I tried that little trick and now I don't get any.

Simple and a lot less hassle.

If you don't have access to such desiccating packets, you can use rice in the same manner. Tie some up in paper towel and it will work the same way. Every few months, swap it out with fresh rice and cook the old stuff!

I made a dehumidor out of a cigar box. I've used rice and silica gel packets as dessicants and they both seem to work.

    Default Daily Use

After my shaves I rinse the blade portion with hot water and dry immediately. The hot water heats the blade and drives off heat after it's dried. Following that I use a q-tip to wipe the blade with isopropnyl alcohol to drive off any remaining moisture. After 15-20 seconds of air drying I close my razor and place in into an air tight container (oxo upright with push button) and keep them on my sink top. Done this for about 1/2 year and no pitting or rust has ever developed, before i figured this out I earned three little pitting spots on my dovo that were partially removed with toothpaste and elbow grease.

i dry them for 24 hrs with the blade open. Razors which i don't use get a small oil film. I use ballistol, it is gun oil.
