Thread: What size razor do I have?

I've been using a straight razor for a few weeks now, and I'm glad I made the switch. Despite the first shave being a disaster, I now find my morning ritual something to look forward to.

Anyhow...

I purchased a mid-grade razor from ClassicShaving.com, a Dovo model 1516 with faux tortoise shell scales. I specified a size 5/8 blade, but measuring from the cutting edge (sharp tip) to the top of the spine I read 6/8-th of an inch.

QUESTIONS: Do I correctly interpret the blade size to be in fractions of an inch? Did I measure the size correctly?

I have no objection if the order was incorrectly filled, as I’m used to what I have. Just curious.
