I love the shaves from both for different reasons. The Solingen because it is rock-hard and will take a perfect edge and hold it. The Sheffield because it is so magically, buttery smooth that even a badly honed Sheffield doesn't irritate my normally sensitive skin.

When it comes to the total package, though, there are very few Solingen razors that get my heart pounding. Sheffields do, and I also agree with Bruno that the unique, artistic shapes of these razors lead me to wonder about the craftsman who I am linked to, through time and space, by this one-off razor.
