    That sounds like a razor I ran across while trying to learn more about one of my blades. Google "Jack Knife Ben" or go straight to this link:

    Jack Knife Ben "Pride of the West" Straight Razor

    The scales on this one have the horseman, dog, and steer. The blade is made in Germany, and says "Pride of the West" like the one I have. My blade and razor are much plainer than the one at this link, or the one you describe, but it hones and shaves very nicely.

    That's extremely helpful and greatly appreciated!! I'm pretty sure that's it. I'm going to try to get a look at it today. Will post pics if I bite.

    This is an unknown brand razor. On the classifieds forum you can get a well known brand razor for less, sometimes even shave-ready. Keep that in mind when contemplating.
