Thanked: 0Is Baxter of California Any Good?
I came across this razor here today, and love the all black look. Has anybody had any success with their products? It has a Hart Steel blade, which seems good on the surface, but I don't know enough about their products to make a decision on it.

Thanked: 3795I like it except for one glaring thing. I hate the "Not A Replica" imprint on the blade. Personally, I think that is just stupid, or "Not A Good Idea."
When I bought my wife's engagement ring, I didn't seek out one with a stone labeled "Not A Zirconium."

I have never used one but you might want to check out the thread discussing it.

Here is the actual link to buy one of those 45th anniversary blades.
Baxter of California | 45th Anniversary Blade for Baxter of California
I have to say, that thing does look great, sort of a weird combination of tactical and elegant. If nothing else, it looks unique. Given that it's Hart steel, I imagine it would give a great shave as well. It doesn't say what material the scales are made of though. Horn maybe? It does have grain lines like it's horn, but the colour seems really consistent, so I wonder if it's maybe dyed?

Thanked: 240Looks like a beauty a step up from the traditional hart steel razor. The scales look like the original one piece hart scales with the grained synthetic that I have heard good things about.

Interesting that it has jimps and the Hart Steels do not.

Thanked: 0I decided to skip on this for now. The engraving on the blade put me over the edge of not getting it. Instead, I just bought a Dovo best quality 6/8 from SRD for a backup razor. I gotta get my main one sent out to Lynn to get sharpened.
