Hello all not sure but I think I did ok on this one.
The Pipe was a little more than I wanted to spend but it needed to be rescued.

Not bad. Looks like a slight frown. Don't 'breadknife' it. Check out this PDF on honing from the SRP Wiki help files here . Shows a frown and how to avoid/fix it in the text/illustrations.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Funny I have that exact same pipe at home. The scales on mine were just terrible, so they had to go. Even similar hone wear (or lack thereof) and oxidation.

Unfortunately I do not have any hones! (yet )
I do have a dremel, but I an not that interested in trying to resto work just yet.
I have buffers and other equipment just nut at this location, wife is Navy so we move to often to try and take the whole shop with me.
So it looks like I will be sending these out for honing and restoration.

You scored big on your Pipe. The scales are real tortoise shell. Nice going!

Nice find. That grind on the pipe looks like as close to a wedge as you can get.
Not trying to be disagreeable, but looks like dyed horn. Darker coloring appears to be only on the surface, and missing at pivot end, where common hand contact wears and polishes the scales. This doesn't discount the beauty of what it is.

I have to agree with dirtychrome on the scales, and that is a beautiful Wosty. I'm sure you'll soon enough forget the price as you enjoy the blade.
