Thread: whats your best shaver

I wouldn't want to single out any one razor from mine, but I have had a real superstar pass through my hands just lately for a clean up and rescale. Grizzley1 might be pleased to hear that she's another Hammesfahr, and I can't remember using a better razor. If I can sort out my photo hosting difficulties, there will be a few pics appearing in Custom Builts and Restorations very soon.

I really like (all) my Genco razors but my favorite would be a Model 89. It's a great shaver. Honestly, Hart, Sheffield, Solingen, American, French and Swede, I like them all. I just reach for the Genco more often.

Thanked: 1185Mine would be a dead heat between my Boker Red Injun 102 and my Texas Shumate. Both of these razors seem just continually scary sharp and consistently produce BBS shaves without much effort at all. On the safety razors side, dead heat between My 1908 Gillette Single Ring Old Style and 1910 Gem Lather Catcher.

Thanked: 33I have yet to acquire the skills to wield a straight razor consistently. So currently my best shaver is a GEM 1912 with pella blades.
