R.M. & CO Fine India steel - id help
I would definitely need some help in identifying this razor. This manufacturer is not mentioned in any of the books I have. The only marks is “R.M. & CO Fine India steel”, wedge. 13/16, barbers notch. This is condition as I found it. No any cleanining yet.
I would give 90% that this is "I" scales. It doesn’t looks like bone and it is not similar of any bone scales that I’ve seen or own. (It might be time for discovery something new about bone scales)

Tap some known ivory scales on your teeth and then tap that one on your teeth. "I" has a hard-to-forget feel
Why are we using "I" instead of ivory?Find me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

That is typical example of double moral. Everybody love ivory and everybody pretend that they care about endangered species..

From the coloring at the very top (pivot end), it looks more like bone to me, and the use of washers also suggests bone. But washers is not a make or break test, and I can't really tell from the photos.
I don't know anything about the maker, but given that the F is missing, part of the first line might be as well.

Thanked: 3164Those are bone scales - the hole at the wedge end just under the pinning is typical. That along with the washers (collars) used with the pins is all the ID necessary for me, at any rate.
