Thread: WEIN Razor Ebay Vintage Question?

Hello all,

I would like to ask if anyone has an opinion on this razor? I was trolling Ebay for some vintage razors and caught this one for a very, very reasonable price. It is in excellent condition. No nicks, scratches, dents, chips, etc. Clean throughout, closes evenly, no rust, so on. It measures 4/8 and it might be shave ready. It passes my forearm hair test. Will give it a shave tonight.

Oh, its a 520 WIEN and I believe a silver steel model. (See attachments)

I scanned the web for some links describing this razor but no luck. Maybe someone can render a view.

The use of silber stahl indicates German. Solingen, probably.

Wien sounds familiar, but I'm not sure where from yet.

Thanks for the reply. WIEN translates as Vienna as in Austria. There's no other markings on the blade or scales.

I have a "Weiner Schauber" German for "Vienna scraper". mine is a french point but the scales look the same. I believe mine was made by Wacker.
