    Default Very disappointed - Fisher

I was so excited because I got a beautiful Fisher off e-bay. Great condition, like new. I'm adding a picture. HOWEVER - after looking closely, I found a crack about 1/8" long coming up from the shaving edge. Is this pretty razor going to the junk pile?? I buy razors to shave with, not to look at.

The crack is about 1/4 of the way in from the toe. Just under the F.

Tell the seller it was not described and ask for a return. If he refuses to accept it back do a dispute through paypal and you'll be able to return it and get your $ back.

What Jimmy said! I'm sorry because I once owned a 6/8 "Silver Fisher" that was indeed a great blade. Get your money back and go fishin again. There are some great razors out there...

+++1 on JimmyHad's suggestion. Request a refund from the seller.

Technically if it was sold as an 'antique/collectible' the crack wouldn't be so relevant as the seller may neither have known, nor reasonably expected a purchaser to use it for shaving if it were the case that he did know; however if it was sold under 'shaving/hair removal,' then it is a false description as it is not fit for purpose and you have a right for a refund.

If this is the listing (and I think it is): PAUL KOHL " FISHER" Straight Razor -GORGEOUS CONDITION - eBay (item 280611550077 end time Jan-10-11 18:10:43 PST) you definitely have a case for getting your money back.

It is described as being in "superb condition" with "no apparent flaws" in the shaving edge.

(ebay #280611550077 if the link doesn't work)

Prima facie it is in superb condition, and depending on the knowledge of the seller, he may well have believed it not to have any 'apparent flaws' in the edge. What is apparent to us SR users objectively and what a potentially ignorant to SRs seller may have subjectively believed when examining the edge, may well be entirely different.

He may have not seen any chips and thought it to be flawless.

More than likely you'll get a refund without any hastle.
