Thanked: 7Personally, while the machismo attitude ever present denotes that she should move her stuff.. Maybe you should try to make your habit less noticeable, compromise what your RAD, and HAD demands. For money if you don't have trouble paying bills, and the money into your hobby is not detracting from your lifestyle, then you are spending a fine amount of money, and most likely your wife is ****ed about it taking up space, time and your attention, money is the easiest attack on that.
First off, you should just get a drawer in your dresser and make it your storage area, In general you should try to keep your razors outa the bathroom anyways so they stay dry.
If you must, just keep one brush, one razor, one strop and lather supplies.
If your like me, and have a soap, some additives, and cream and keep them all out on the counter, I suggest making it pretty, so you wife does not mind it. put the cream into a nice container, put your additives into a soap dispenser if they are liquid.
As for your strops. You only need one in the bathroom before you shave. Keep the rest with your hones out of the bathroom. If you have your own dresser attach them to the side, so you can do razor up keep out of the bathroom and keep them outa sight.
Personally I only keep my lather supplies the bathroom. I hate keeping my stops in there because someone ends up spraying hairspray all over it, or some other tragedy happens, so I keep my stuff in my area, I strop my blade before I go to take my shower, then leave it at the sink grab my 5 minute shower get out make my lather, shave, clean the blade and lather supplies, make it pretty, dry the blade, then put it into my shave drawer out of the bathroom
Next, she might be jealous that you are spending so much time on your skin, if this is the case, I am sure she is a bigger offender. But maybe shave just once a day, I'm sure your skin would appreciate that too.
Maybe she is also jealous that you can spend time doing that, maybe go out and buy her something nice that she can spend time with, or teach her how to shave her legs with a straight, but make sure you do it right, with a tub with candles and bubbles. There are other benefits to doing this for them though . Now she might get into the shaving, and you can then be razor upkeep. Or buy her exfoliating creams and make up, or get her some super makeup brushes.
Now after all this if she is right, and you are spending too much money on your hobby, stop! Play two fold with what you already have, and be happy you have a wife that will let you know that you have gone too far.

Thanked: 21Shave once a day and then shave her legs for her. You get to use the toys twice and she might want you to buy more.

Too far?, it's never enough since it keeps us pretty busy and away from the TV and other things. On the other hand, once one gets the hang of it, one notices that it's hard to put a price to enjoyment and pleasure, and suddenly the "return of investment" versus disposables becomes obsolete.....

I'm very lucky that SWMBO doesnt mind my weird obsession lol..!
I've spent a pretty penny on kit over the last couple of years thats for sure, but fortunately its not caused any tension. All it means is I have to keep my yap shut when SWMBO comes home with another pair of shoes!
But if its causing friction what I'd do is move some of your kit out of the bathroom to your wardrobe or something and just take in what you want to use on that day.
I dont keep my hones or razors in the bathroom at all, partly because of the damp and partly for space reasons. Instead I keep all that in a cupboard in the spare bedroom and the only stuff thats in the bathroom is my brush, soaps and cologne and the strops on the back of the door.

Thanked: 5My wife tried to pull that on me the other day. So I did the following:
1. took her to her scrapbooking area in our small apartment
after that didn't work I
2. showed her all the sewing stuff she had acquired over the last 5 years
after that didn't work we moved to
3. the nikon camera, laptop and photoshop i bought her for her graphic design obsession
that got me close to convincing her i was ok, so i needed one more thing to put my argument over the edge, convincing her my habits were much less expensive than hers. so my final destination was
4. my kids bedroom. just looking at the toys she's purchased for my two boys who are both under 5 years old was enough she thought, then i started to tell her how much her habit of having children has cost us in diapers, baby wipes, medical bills, etc. i mean, that's thousands!
she's now ok with me purchasing a tube of cream here and there!
