Heaviest razor?
Hello.
Even tough I am new to straight razor shaving I have found that all the razors I have (except the Meyerherm & Co Solingen which is ok but on the light side) is to light. I would like a heavier razor but don't know what to go for.
Should I try to find a 6/8 or 13/16 hollow ground or is there heavier razors out there?
Regards,
Magnus

This one looks pretty heavy:
There are other sizes in between, too. I shave with a 9/8 regularly, and I'm just an average-sized guy. I haven't shaved with a razor that felt too big to shave with yet personally, and although the razors seem rarer as they go up in size, there seem to be many razors out there around an inch wideFind me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Are you looking for a heavier blade or just overall heft? I have a 5/8 TI full hollow that is plenty heavy due to it having stainless steel scales. The balance is nice though and I enjoy the heft.

@hoglahoo
That's a nice one.
A bit heavy perhaps? So I should perhaps try to find a 9/8?
@porridgeorange
No, I'm looking for heavier razors, not necessary bigger.

Maybe this thread will help you get some ideas...
largest straight razor you own?
Maybe this...

That 11/8 Wedge looks almost barbaric...I like it!

If your current razors feel too light, by all means try a heavier razor. This usually means a larger razor, one that is a heavier grind or both. While you can certainly find razors that are real beasts I would suggest that you go with one that is not too extreme in the size and weight areas. Maybe a 1/4 or 1/2 hollow grind in the 6/8 to 7/8 size range. If that still isn't to your liking you can always go bigger/heavier.
