Thread: How do you unstore a razor?

+1 to the above.

Any of the 'usual' solvents will work - ethyl alcohol, iso-propyl alcohol, acetone, kerosene, gasoline (!), lighter fuel.

Hot water and detergent will remove it as well.

If the Camelia oil is very oxidised, you could try one of the non-caustic oven cleaners (the citrus based ones).

A fresh lemon wedge or half may work. I use them to clean sterling and bronze. Just the lemon though. No salt, baking soda, etc.

I find if you run the razor under very hot water, the residue will wipe off with either paper towel, tissue or toilet paper.

I would not use lemon on a razor. Acid = bad.

I also have seen people get either goo or light staining on razors from camilla oil. I don't know if it's a question of the oil quality/source/whatever, but I don't like the stuff. I'd use either nothing or mineral oil. Also tufglide seems to work very well.

I had to de-goo a few once. I used soap and hot water.

I see your point about the lemon.........soap and water is always the best first option.
