Talking I THINK I GOT LUCKY!

    Hello all,
Its possibly a little too early to say for sure but I've just received a Cadman Bengall that I picked up off Ebay for just ten pounds. OK yes its covered in rust from nose to tang and from edge to spine but it looks and feels like it will clean up a treat. FWIW the scales look ok but for a small amount of rust to the pins and the action is good (blade sits dead center and no fouling) The scales are black plastic so I assume not original. Sorry I cant post pics yet. So its off to the hardware store for umpteen grades of wet 'n dry paper and then I can begin my first restore. I will advise of any updates and/or hitches but hopefully in the coming few days I will have this baby cleaned up and shaving like it should. Ryan

    Nice one.

Most Bengalls I have seen (lots) have had some sort of plastic type scale so I would say, without seeing it, they are likely to be original to the razor.

Good luck with the restore. It is immensely satisfying.

And watch the fingers. Rusty razors cut too.
