Take a bit of extra time to clean around the rubber after the shave. Like TBS said, it will turn black around it and may rust. The rubber is a moisture trap. I still wouldn't cut it off. Just dry well with a tissue and try not to get the tang wet while shaving.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I see what you mean about the rubber on the tang area. I imagined it more on the tail end (where your fingers rest). I don't think I've ever seen rubber that thick on a razor, but then again I'm more of a shaver than a collector. As I said it's basically a matter of aesthetics, I'd cut it off myself but it's entirely up to you.

    Thanks for the pictures.
That rubber is exactly the same as on the EPBD, it just looks a bit bigger due to the relatively smaller blade.
I would never take that off, it adds grip and character to the razor.

    Default Filarmonica Corte Cabello

Forgive me for possibly being a little ignorant on this (I'm a 'New Guy') but... isn't a Filarmonica Corte Cabello used (by old fashioned Barbers I would guess?) for hair cutting not shaving??? The reason I ask is that 'Corte Cabello' translates to 'Cut Hair'.

    Just asking...

It could be, but technically when shaving it is still cutting hair. It might just be one of those things that sounds strange because of a translation. In other words "Same thing only different."

I did a little searching, and your right. This blade is a 4/8 and it can be used for a 'razor-cut' haircut by a good Barber or as a shaver. I also found this: "Note the rubber finger grip - this model was produced for salons where the barber may have had wet hands, and the rubber gives a good grip."
