Almost certainly not good to shave with. I had a similar 440 straight razor from one of those Made in China brands and it's worthless.

It's worthless junk , they don't even show a pic of the actual razor , it's a drawing . If you want a new straight razor , that you can actually shave with , I think the prices start at around $80.00 , and go up from there .
Greetings , from Dundalk , Maryland . The place where normal people , fear to go .

I see you're new here. Welcome to SRP. If you're interested in straight razors, this is the place. There's more reading to be had here than you have days to live, but you don't have to read it all to know what's up. If you're looking for a razor and start up kit to get into straight shaving check out the classifieds in the menu bar above, and whippeddog.com, Straight Razor Designs and the other vendors here also offer new equipment. It kinda all depends on your price range.
Peace,

Big Jim hit the nail right on the head with his advise if you look around you can probably put together a starter kit (razor, strop, brush and soap) for around $80 dollars that will last you for years other then having to by shave soap. The best deals I have seen have all come from whippeddog. com or the classifieds here.

I actually own one of those. I would not let it near my strop, let alone my face. For shaving it is utterly useless.

I had one too. It hung on the wall for a year. One day I found a use for it!
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

It's nice to look at, but don't shave with that.

I like to call items such as the Sweeney Todd's "razor shaped objects" or RSO's. To me, if it doesn't function like a razor, it's not a razor, and calling it a razor is simply a ploy to trick people who don't know.
