Well, I have the perfect solution to you guys who like the heavier grinds and razors. You go to a fishing tackle store and buy a bunch of those lead weights and crazy glue them to the spine and blade of your lighter razors and now you have an instant heavy razor.

It holds a sharp edge through the shave, better than some other high grade brands I've tried. The weight of it, for me anyway, makes it easier for me to balance it on my strop. What I like the most is the shape of the cutting edge. It's got just enough of a smile to make it easy to go around curves, and the smile keeps the spike point just far enough away to keep it from slicing you unexpectedly. And the spike is kind of muted on the front edge, not really rounded, just tamed. All together, the razor is very precise for getting to details, shaves extremely comfortably and is very forgiving. It's very straight-forward looking, but every time I use it, which is almost daily, I can tell that someone put a lot of thought into this razor when they were putting it together. I was unsure when I first got it if I would really want to spend that much money, but now that I have it, I like it so much I'm looking forward to getting another one, if I get the money.

I got my hartsteel spike point with red oak scales about a month ago. This is a very nice blade. Although I have only a dovo 5/8 FH to compare it with. Which by the way I love that razor. But, this was very nice as it is the 1st step up to a heavier blade. For me though it does seem to be a bit more stable in the hands compared to my other.

Thats my 2 cents. If anyone needs change back on that just remember I would rather owe you then cheat you out of it.
    Peace and Happy Shaving
